Atypical Education is seeking experienced and dedicated self-employed mentors and tutors to provide bespoke one-to-one educational support for children and young people with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, SEMH needs, and those unable to access mainstream educational settings.

About the Role

Working as a subcontractor, you will deliver personalised educational and mentoring programmes designed around each young person's strengths, interests, learning profile, and aspirations. Support may include:

  • One-to-one tuition across Primary, KS3 and GCSE subjects
  • Emotional wellbeing and confidence-building
  • Life skills and independence development
  • Engagement and re-engagement with learning
  • Support for students with EHCPs
  • Transition support and alternative provision programmes
  • Working collaboratively with families, schools and other professionals


Ideal Candidate

 We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have experience working with neurodiverse children and young people
  • Can build positive, trusting relationships
  • Are flexible, patient and creative in their approach
  • Understand trauma-informed and strengths-based practice
  • Have teaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, SEND or therapeutic experience
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate (or are willing to obtain one)
  • Are able to work independently as a self-employed professional

Location
